We’re looking for an Analyst to join the Aero team at Edinburgh Airport.

About the role

We are expanding our team and have an opportunity in Aero where you will build business cases for exciting new route development and monitor the performance and improvement of our existing routes.

You will work closely with our Business Analytics team who develop operational forecasts and models to drive the efficient running and growth plans of the airport.

We are a diverse team at Edinburgh Airport with a range of skillsets that include data wrangling, data visualisation, statistics, machine learning, optimisation, simulation, dashboarding (tableau and power BI), coding (R and python), process mapping… just to name a few. What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who are passionate about data analytics and supporting the continuous improvement of our airport.

  • Problem solving: you enjoy the challenge of solving complex problems and deploying practical solutions.
  • Curiosity: you have a desire to understand how things work and how we can make them better.
  • Precise: you enjoy and are comfortable manipulating large and numerous datasets and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player: you have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively. You enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Savvy: Ability to learn quickly, use and/or develop the latest capacity modelling software, reporting tools, and statistical techniques.
  • Self-starter: Able to work independently, run with tasks on your own, and confident to make decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for people with a variety of skills. Don’t worry if you do not have all of these. We provide loads of training and development opportunities.

  • Essential: Highly numeric with proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Essential: A degree in a relevant STEM subject for example maths, data science, airport planning, engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Essential: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Desirable: Experience in a data science programming language such as R, Python, SQL
  • Desirable: Understanding and experience with a range of statistical techniques such as queueing theory, simulation, or optimisation.
  • Desirable: Experience with dashboarding software such as Tableau.
  • Desirable: Practical experience in designing and delivering complex analysis/models and the ability to translate analysis into solutions then communicate these to airport teams in a clear and constructive manner.
